I knew The Amateurs wasn’t a great novel and my attachment to the story was entirely based on it’s addictive quality, but Follow Me procured no excitement from me, leaving me with just an unenjoyable, poorly written book.I was very hopeful that with Follow Me being the sequel, my issues with the construction would improve. I’m happy to say that by the end o

Ever compared to The Amateurs Follow Me is a little bit lacking In the first book the characters try to figure out who is behind the series of bit lacking In the first book the characters try to figure out who is behind the series of but in the seuel we already know who the killer is so the story is basically just them trying to find his location It is still njoyable but I would have liked a bit br br I really Uncommon Leadership: How to Build Competitive Advantage by Thinking Differently enjoyed the use of multiple perspectives in Follow Me The reader gets to delve into not only the thoughts of thentire group but also the killer It is so interesting knowing what both sides are planning at the same time and it really adds to the creepiness knowing what is happening to the girl who was kidnapped I am always a fan of multiple POVs but it worked specially well in this bookbr br There is "a great cast of characters in this series My personal favourite was Seneca since she is great at "great cast of characters in this series My personal favourite was Seneca since she is great at clues and is so determined to find the killer However the rest of the group doesn t seem to have as big of a role in this instalment which is a little bit disappointing I remember njoying Aerin s character in the first book so I would have liked to see of herbr br Follow Me is the seuel to The Amateurs and tells the story of a group of sleuths trying to track down a serial killer The multiple narrations is intriguing Multichannel Marketing Ecosystems especially the killer s perspective and the main characters are all so likeable This series is perfect for the fall and I would definitely recommend it to those searching for a super suspenseful mystery I didn t really click with this one I haven t read the first in the series but there isnough at the beginning that this isn t a problem I think for me I mostly didn t like the characters Some of them seemed superfluous to the story and didn t add much to it br br I struggled to get into the story and Extending Symfony 2 Web Application Framework ended up skipping uite a bit Not for mebr Free arc from netgalley I definitely didn tnjoy this one as much as the first mostly because it felt like a mystery without any mystery we knew who the killer was from the very first page My favourite secondary characters in the first book Aerin and Madison were practically nonexistent and social media Angels Whiskey ended up doing of the legwork than Seneca or Maddox did combined Also trying to crowbar in a romance subplot was just not a good ideabr br It was very fast paced and a uick read but not the seuel that this book deserved Follow Me is the second instalment in Sara Shepard s series featuring teenage amateur sleuths and having won a copy of this book several reviews mentioned that it does not work as a standalone This is certainly something that I can corroborate as without a knowledge of the first investigation this investigation doesn t have much to appeal to an uninitiated audience The closing moments of The Amateurs blew the online friends who contribute to a crimesolving forum Case Not Closed out of the water and left readers with something of a curveball revelation Reuniting just threemonths later and still smarting from being duped by a former friend yet at a loss for hardvidence of his involvement the ragtag posse are licking their wounds Most frustrated of all is college student Seneca Frazier interning in law Ritual Alliances of the Putian Plain: Volume Two: A Survey of Village Temples and Ritual Activities enforcement with Annapolis Parking Authority and busy searching for answers surrounding her mother s death But all it takes is a taunt from their scheming adversary and a hint that he is behind the disappearance of a twentyoneyear old Instagram fixated and motorised selfie stick owner Chelsea Dawson a girl who bears an uncanny resemblance to his previous suspected victims Aerin Kelly s sister and Seneca s mother for the team to come togetherbr br All the teenage detectives have moved on since the prosecutions in the murder of Helena Kelly with mixed fortunes from Seneca and Maddox Wrightxchanging anodyne mails and Aerin Kelly barely speaking to her admirer and former cop Thomas Grove But when a post on the online forum which spawned the initial investigation from their prime suspect inviting them to come and play appears feisty Seneca sees a chance to ven up the scores and avenge her mother s killer From this suspected disappearance and hints that their nemesis has infiltrated the New Jersey preppy crowd the team are playing catchup and just as Wish You Were Here: An Essential Guide to Your Favorite Music Scenes—from Punk to Indie and Everything in Between easily led The major disappointment in this followup though is that with a fewxtra characters this is a rehash of the first investigation and The Day Christ Was Born even after their being thwarted once they are just as naively confident The details of this investigation rely heavily on aspects of technology from spyware drones bugging right through to photo sharing on PhotoCircle which for those readers whoseyes glaze over at mentions of digital aspects will rapidly bore There is a large focus in on the flamboyant lifestyles of the Newport Beach youths who seem to move from party to party and one xtravagance to the next and this makes it hard to relate to or care about the spoilt brats involved In common with the debut there is huge detail on culture class and wealth differences between the characters. Detail about the victim she looks xactly like Aerin’s sister Helena who was killed five years arlier Seneca is convinced she knows who killed Helena and she can’t shake the feeling that the same person has taken ChelseaDesperate for answers about the two girls and the truth behind her mother’s murder Seneca will stop at nothing to find out if the cases are linke. You know how sometimes you can wait for a book to "Come And Then When "and then when does you pick up as you have high hopes that you will love it That s what happened with Follow Me by Sara Shepard as I normally am a big fan of her books However I felt a little letdown with Follow Me which is a shame as I really wanted to love it Book 1 finished on a major cliffie with the reveal that Ben wasn t really Brett and in fact he was the same killer who killed Helena and Seneca s mother In Book 2 a new girl has been kidnapped Chelsea and she

Read Follow Me (The Amateurs, #2)

the same age as the investigating teens Disappointing I again found the characters a mix to warm to and given the paltry lack of mystery and intrigue present I would find it hard to recommend Follow Me makes no sense as a standalone read and given that it nds with a mighty similar hook to the first book I have no further interest in reading of this groups fforts at crime solving Despite the idea likely appealing to a younger teen audience 1213 it should be noted that the characters are of age seventeen upwards and there is mention of pursuits that may not be suitable for such a young readershipbr br After reading The Amateurs and Follow Me I would find it hard to recommend ither novel which have a romantic lement that supersedes any focus on an actual mystery and fails to surprisebr br I received a free copy of this book from Readers First and my review is my honest and unbiased opinion Note I was sent a copy of this book by the publisher That did not influence my opinionbr br Not my favorite in terms of suspense level but I did njoy reading this and appreciate how it was structured In this mystery the reader and the Amateurs know who the killer is but are racing to follow his clues to find him before he strikes again If you don t like knowing the identity of the killer in mysteries I can imagine you wouldn t Just Cause enjoy this There were still twists and reveals and annding that makes you wonder what s in store next I liked how this was set up because it was so unusualbr br For a Sara Shepard book and for a seuel in this particular series it met my xpectations I have no big complaints I think you d like this if you liked the PLL series but wanted to see the characters be capable of chasing down A and wanted to see of A behind the scenes 2 stars I was xtremely disappointed with this seuel I knew The Amateurs wasn t a great novel and my attachment to the story was ntirely based on it s addictive uality but Follow Me procured no xcitement from me leaving me with just an unenjoyable poorly written bookbr br I was very hopeful that with Follow Me being the seuel my issues with the construction would improve I m happy to say that by the nd of the story the writing improved significantly in my opinion I wouldn t go so far to say it s great but it at least felt natural and cohesive rather than stunted and awkward Unfortunately the rest of my critiues from book one worsened The characters became ven LESS developed than they were originally One character who happens to be one of the only two people of color in the story interestingly was virtually nonexistent throughout the ntire story I can barely remember a scene she was present in much less any contributions made to the story Any interesting traits from the individual characters are sacrificed completely They are demoted to having no personalities as their only purpose of the story is to solve the case or ngage in unnecessary romantic plotlines And although I did not think the mystery of book one was great book two was ven worse Overall this seuel is a serious downgrade from the first installment in almost very aspectbr br While my overall feeling during The Amateurs was I don t know why but I can t stop reading Follow Me caused me to feel perpetually frustrated and annoyed and it was an immense struggle to finish In regard to the mystery verything is just so dumbed down Nothing is thoughtprovoking clever or takes much work to figure out The characters are ither going in circles or have an idea out of thin air without using any deductive reasoning or previous knowledge that somehow manages to produce The Perfect Christmas Gift evidence I feel like I could go onndlessly about all of the leads that didn t make sense the completely ridiculous plot points a classjsShowSpoiler spoilerActionview spoileraspan classspoilerContainer styledisplay none I m sorry I don t believe you can sit in a room with the person you are looking for The Taste of Night especially after spendingvery day with them a few months ago being friends and not recognize anything familiar no matter how good they are at wearing sunglasses and pretending to be a surfer a classjsHideSpoiler spoilerActionhide spoilera This one didn t seem to grip me in the way the first one did It was still an overall ntertaining read but didn t pack as much thrill as the first one did.
