me Split second blink and you ll miss it Kate Bishop reference too YayFinal Verdict Good butSplit second blink and you ll miss it Kate Bishop reference too YayFinal Verdict Good but after what I ve come to expect from my favorite superhero I love Mockingbird And Hawkeye But This Hawkeye but this really didn t do them justice It did raise some good points about their relationship as a whole but all in all they both seemed incredibly dislikeable at points While they both meant well for the most part they just can t stop hurting each other To an extent that is a staple in Bobbi and Clint s relationship but when it goes as far as it did it s not a good read and it doesn t make for likable characters The first time I tried to read this over a month ago I just couldn t get into it I just had problems with Mockingbird I don t know why but this time around I was accepting of who Mockingbird was and I was able to read through the book and sort of enjoy it You need to have a lot of background knowledge on Mockingbird to really get into this I was able to follow what was going on but I think I would have enjoyed it with historical knowledge There is a great timeline of their relationship at the end of the story It almost makes sense to start with that I may be a tiny bit partial since Mockingbird is my favorite character of all time but this is by far my favorite series The art is incredible Lopez has really captured Bobbi s looks and her kick ass style And McCann how can I express my love for Jim The only time I ve ever felt as though Bobbi was actually loved by the writer and not just a throw away love interest for Hawkeye or a pawn for story develop was when Jim was writing her For him to actually give her closure for one of the most painful experiences of her life only made me love the story even Maybe you have to love Mockingbird to really love this story but I for one think it s truly a must read I really wasn t familiar with the Hawkeye character who is featured in the new Avengers movie so I thought I d check out a couple books featuring the purple archer I first read Ultimate Hawkeye since the character is like that of the film I didn t like it In Ghosts however we get the old school Hawkeye goofy purple mask and all And old school seems to be the operative word here We get good if not flashy artwork and a fast moving storyline with lots of action character interplay and some very witty asides This one has Hawkeye and Mockingbird teaming back p after divorcing but still having complicated feelings for each other Mockingbird is being stalked by an old nemesis the Phantom Rider who is basically an evil cowgirl ghost and hit 1898 upon by team member Dominic Fortune Meanwhile Hawkeye is trying to track down sort of an evil sn. He deadly duo defied every obstacle to make their way back to each other and put together the all new WCA team but now the one thing that. More like 35 stars Complete reviews when I m done with the HawkeyeMockingbird arc One to go I read the whole arc in one day I liked it but found that it had low points and lots ofnnecessary graphic violence both mental and physical for my taste I m thinking about the heir of the Phantom here Overall "I M NOT UNHAPPY I VE READ THIS I "m not Night of the Werewolf (Choose Your Own Nightmare, unhappy I ve read this I an Hawkeye fan new one my first Hawkeye is Matt Fraction s so this one is a bit rough and doesn t fit perfectly in my Hawkeye box but then nothing would really expect Fraction sRating for the whole arc 3 stars A very solid tale by a newcomer to comic book writing Jim McCann While the character work and dialogue is not outstanding McCann s background in daytime television shows in his portrayal of the leads troubled romantic relationship I bought the two leads as a divorced couple trying to figure out whether they should start their marriage backup or break apart for good all the while admitting that they are in love with each other The supporting characters get a little development and the villains out for revenge part of the story that issed to drive the action seuences is average What I get for reading the middle book last I guess It felt too forced neither as fresh as the Reunion it rehashed the same themes or as conseuential as WidowmakerI felt the design too much that the books were set Lay My Burden Down up to have Hawkeye and Mockingbird breakp That accounts for some of the lack of conseuence I knew what was going to happen But even having Mockingbird s family threatened felt inconseuential once the sniper s bullet was revealed to be less than a kill shot Ah comics Always either resurrecting someone from the dead as was here with

Be At Risk Andat risk and we hardly knew her why have her be okayThe books also felt a bit paddedStill there were some fun spots I enjoyed following Vérité (Love at Center Court, up on the old West Coast Avengers storylines from when I last read comics McCann can plot and the dialogue was mostly believable The art was solid throughout Challenge Completed a graphic novelI am a little disappointed nglI didn t expect to rate this book as low as I did especially given my well documented love of Hawkeye See my review on Hawkeye Vol 1 My Life as a Weapon Unfortunately though I still enjoyed it I did have a few issues with this bookFirst the art style looked strange and off to me Toote Flynn from the movie Tangled My second problem with the book is probably ser error than anything else But the story revolves around the Phantom Rider and especially Mockingbird s history with him I am not familiar with the story and although both characters make references to their previous meetings I felt like some context would not have gone amiss here I ve only read about 5 issues int. Hawkeye the world's greatest marksman is back and reunited with the world's most dangerous super spy Mockingbird in an all newadventure .
Iper version of himself called Crossfire Both Phantom Rider and Crossfire are weird and wonderful villains and Fortune is an entertaining pain in the rear But it s Hawkeye and Mockingbird s relationship that make this collection stand out I would like to track down Mockingbird s first encounter with the Phantom Rider to flesh out some of the back story but overall a very good read The best I can say about this story is that at least Widowmaker makes slightly sense It does not for the record make me like Widowmaker or Dominic Fortune than I did I had to look p the plot of the thing even though I just read it a couple months ago and that puts it firmly where it sat when I reviewed itIt s not a bad story but it s clearly the first arc of what was meant to be an ongoing book and so it doesn t wrap p like a limited run should and the story itself just didn t engage me beyond general interest Bobbi goes through a huge list of issues over the course of six issues and while the background is interesting the emotional center just felt off There s a whole list of emotional touch points going on Bobbi reuniting with her family Bobbi and Clint trying to make a go of it again Bobbi facing off against the Phantom Rider who at one time brainwashed and raped her But none of the touch points really hit deeply There s too much going on in the book to really let anything settle Hell one of the supposed major players in the much going on in the book to really let anything settle Hell one of the supposed major players in the cast gets maybe three lines and is wearing some rather eyebrow raising Asian inspired face paint that is never explained and comes off sort of racist and even if there were book to lead into from this I m not certain I would have picked it p It s
