Un to keep up with Adam and Emma s than fast courtship As it was it was hard to connect with their emotions because whenever "I started to feel an empathy for them they changed and I was bereft Adam and Emma spent "started to feel an empathy for them they changed and I was bereft Adam and Emma spent ot of time thinking to themselves and not so much talking to each other Their inner dialogues gave me a good insight into their feelings so I could sort of see why one would fall in ove with the other but I couldn t understand how that happened considering their ack of verbal interaction and their inability to read minds At the end of the day and I mean that April 16th: Virginia Tech Remembers literally because the whole story happens in the span of a few hours it was hard to buy their HEAAll in all I can t say Iiked this book I didn t hate it either and that s the best thing I can say about it Note I received this eARC from Carina Press via NetGalley That had no influence on my reviewrating This is one of those short stories that could have been an amazing full ength novel but I m so happy Ms Kincaid kept it short It didn t need the ength to be spectacular It focused on the moment two people Mindful Living with Aspergers Syndrome longing for each other reunited and I enjoyed every darn minute of it I promise not to ruin anything but I have to share the scene that melted my heart Emma is a child and Adam a teenager She demands something of him that is so innocent yet so Emma I don t want to spoil it so Il keep my mouth sealed about what was exchanged between them but this scene was probably one of the sweetest moments I ve read in a storyand I doubt it will ever eave my mind Adam Caldwell has officially stolen my heart I drooled over this man He s a tormented soul and watching him gain his ife back had me cheering him on Below I share my favorite snippet from HEALING HEARTS and it was at that point I fell madly in ove with him and got all giddy over the man Emma Whiteside is strong but suffering from a broken heart I enjoyed seeing her go back and forth in her resolve to fight against the ove she felt for Adam and sorting through her grief To me it made the story so real She battled against herself over and over again and I experienced those emotions with her Emotional stuff aside the sexual tension in this book is smokin and I would swear I felt Adam s kisses along my skin Passion between the two wasn t an issue and experiencing their need for each other Space Kid left my cheeks flaming hotSigh Ioved this story Ms Kincaid is a Circumstantial Evidence: Death, Life, and Justice in a Southern Town lovely writer and her voice drew me right in to the point where it was than reading words on a pageit wasike I Lived It Healing lived it Healing s is a sweet romance with tons of sexual tension I enjoyed reading this novella You l find the hero very damaged from a war and the heroine very mad at him but it doesn t take ong for her to warm up This is not a fast paced action read it heartfelt story between two people that already Every Drop for Sale: Our Desperate Battle Over Water loved each other Ioved the authors writing style and I will be reading of her books in the future I recommend this to anyone that would Down We Go: Living Into the Wild Ways of Jesus like a hot sweet novella romance As a girl Emma Whiteside asked Adam Caldwell Viscount Riverton to wait for her to be of marriageable age Now twelve yearsater Emma hates Adam as much as she once Reach for the Rainbow: Advanced Healing for Survivors of Sexual Abuse loved him holding the former army major responsible for the death of her brother on the battlefieldAdam already blames himself for theoss of the men under his command But the fiery young woman. Well that was one heck of a silly book everything besides the epilogue takes place in ess than a day during which the heroes feeling run from hate to ust to ove in just a few hours Yes that s right the heroine starts the book hating the hero for the death of her brother during the war but she soon discovers she wants him anyway and finally admits that she even oves him The hero s feelings at east start one step higher skipping hate and moving directly to ust before eventually turning to ove as wellAnd despite all that it was not bad I did Owls: Birds of the Night like the characters frivolous or not and especially the tortured hero who carried both physical and emotional traumas Like an instant soup it wasn t too tasty nor nutricious but served its purpose of momentarily satisfying my hunger I don t think Il even remember it a week after today but at Bon Bon Voyage (A Carolyn Blue Culinary Mystery, least I didn t hate it Note An earl s son is not a viscount merely aord 45 stars It is darn near impossible to write a complex emotionally satisfying Bon Bon Voyage love story with a real conflict in a mere 74 pages but somehow Kincaid pulls it off and for that alone I have to salute her If you enjoy slightly gothic regenciesike Elizabeth Hoyt s Maiden Lane series or Samantha James s or Shirley Karr s work you will enjoy this tale of a young woman confronting the man she spent most of her ife idolizing but now blames for the death of her twin brother With vivid details of the sea swept andscape and impoverished manor house I felt ike I had slipped into a delicious Victorian tale I can only hope that the Bronte fairy dust extends to Kincaid attempting a full ength historical If I have a uibble with this tale it s that it really deserved to be a full ength novel With an angst ridden conflict Dickens esue villain tortured hero and beautifully wrought prose this had than enough material to carry a book and as such it felt ike heroine s rapid shift from hating hero to remembering why she once oved him to forgiving him was a bit rushed Kincaid made it work but I would have oved bit rushed Kincaid made it work but I would have oved see this play out on a arger scale Heroine s anger was a force to be reckoned with and the description of her emotional state was exceptionally well done If Kincaid continues to grow her craft I predict that she will be formidable addition to the historical aisle with her uniue gothic tinged voice and vivid descriptive writing I oved this book Taryn Kincaid did a beautiful job of really showing the complexity of the human heart and its capacity

overcome pain Adam is perfect hero I m in ove with him I will be buying anything Ms Kincaid writes from now 2 12 stars rounded down to 2 stars because I was disappointed to see a good premise wasted ike thisThis book has most of the key ingredients to a good romance an emotionally and physically damaged hero who can t forget the horrors of war a tortured heroine who blames the hero for her brother s death on the battlefield and is in dire straits due to her father s gambling debts angsty conflicts heightened by the hero s sense of guilt and inadeuacy steamy ove scenes Unfortunately all that is crammed into the word imit of a short story and the overall result is a very rushed romance that failed to grab meI wish this had been a full ength book because I Old Yeller liked Ms Kincaid s writing and I think I would have enjoyed it better if I didn t feelike I had to As a girl Emma Whiteside asked Adam Caldwell Viscount Riverton to wait for her to be of marriageable age Now twelve years Flying by the Seat of My Pants: Flight Attendant Adventures on a Wing and a Prayer later Emma hates Adam as much as she onceoved him holding the former army major responsible for the death of her brother ,
